Woman to Receive Bionic Hands From New Prosthetic Clinic

A retired teacher who lost all four limbs to an infection will be receiving bionic hands from a new prosthetic clinic in Rockville.

Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics will hold a grand opening of its new Rockville location on Thursday. In attendance will be Sherron Couldren, the recipient of the new prosthetic limbs.

The company has 11 clinics in Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina. It is providing Couldren with bionic hands from Touch Bionics in Dayton, Ohio.

Maryland's secretary of disabilities, Karen Beatty, is also scheduled to attend the event.
