A Virginia man died of injuries from a car crash Tuesday after his car collided with another vehicle Monday morning in Manassas.
The crash took place at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Hoadly Road at approximately 5:25 a.m. Investigators said the deceased driver, 57-year-old Donald Stephen Rinker of Strasburg, Va., was driving in the same lane as a tractor-trailer and struck the truck from behind at a stop light.
Rinker was flown to a nearby hospital where he died Tuesday.
Authorities said Rinker was driving above the safe speed at the time of the collision. Alcohol and drug use were not factors in his crash.
No injuries to the driver of the tractor-trailer were reported.
