Two men were arrested this week for drug possession after police found illegal substances at an Elk Creek, Virginia, home.
On Wednesday, a Grayson County officer encountered Adams James Woods, 28, at a gas station.
Woods "appeared very nervous," so the officer asked for consent to search his backpack and Woods agreed, police said. During the search, the officer found a container full of methamphetamine. Woods was arrested and charged with possession.
Following an investigation, police obtained a warrant to search the home of 64-year-old Oscar Ray Thomas.
They searched the Elk Creek home after midnight Thursday and found a stockpile of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, untaxed liquor and a firearm.
Thomas faces six charges including felony possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Thomas and Woods were placed in the New River Valley Regional Jail under no bond.
