One person has been injured in a stabbing Friday night at a carnival held in Alexandria, Virginia, police say.
Alexandria police said the victim has a non-life threatening injury and was taken to a hospital.
The stabbing happened on opening night of the Reithoffer Carnival at Landmark Mall. The carnival was supposed to be open until 11 p.m., but was cleared out after the incident.
The suspect is in custody and the victim and suspect know each other, police said.
Fairfax County police responded to the scene with a helicopter due to the size of the crowd, police said.
It is not known at this time if changes will be made to the carnival's schedule because of the stabbing.
