On Thursday, Ravens running back Ray Rice was indicted on aggravated and simple assault charges, accused of knocking his finacee out cold.
On Friday, Rice reportedly married her.
Several published reports say Rice married fiancee Janay Palmer Friday. According to ESPN, the ceremony had been planned for a couple of weeks.
The two were engaged in February, when they were involved in a altercation at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City. A video posted by TMZ, purportedly of the incident, shows Rice dragging Palmer, who was unconcious, out of an elevator.
If convicted, Rice faces up to five years of jail time.
It's not clear that the marriage will affect his court case. Though spouses typically cannot be forced to testify against each other, there is an exception in New Jersey law when a spouse is also a victim, the Baltimore Sun reported.
The Ravens have said that Rice will stay with the team in 2014.
