Protesters Block Downtown, β€˜Die-In' at Union Station

Protests continued in D.C. Saturday afternoon and night as the marchers demanded attention to grand jury decisions in New York and Missouri.

Saturday night, protesters took to the streets in downtown D.C., briefly blocking intersections. The Alert D.C. system warned drivers that they could be delayed while driving through the Downtown, Chinatown, Dupont Circle and Shaw neighborhoods.

Protesters also had briefly blocked the Key Bridge in Arlington, but then returned to the District by Metro.

Earlier Saturday, dozens of people staged a "die-in" at Union Station, laying on the ground to show how angry they are over Eric Garner's death in New York and other similar cases. The demonstrations so far have been peaceful.

Protesters have been staging "die-ins" across the country. Some of them held up signs that said β€œBlack lives matter” while others demanded justice.
