A strip mall in Hyattsville, Maryland, caught fire early Sunday morning, causing heavy smoke to billow from one building.
Around 7 a.m., fire crews responded to the mall in the 5400 block of Queens Chapel Road. They called for a second alarm to help contain the blaze.
More than 70 firefighters, including some from Montgomery County and D.C., responded and got the fire under control quickly, extinguishing the blaze in less than an hour.
Fire officials said the fire started in the Emerita's Pupuseria & Carry-Out. The damage is estimated at $750,000.
None of the businesses in the strip mall were open when the fire broke out. No one was injured battling the fire.
