A small plane crashed in Orange County, Virginia, Tuesday afternoon, killing two people.
Virginia State Police said they were alerted to the crash around 4:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Tinder Lane in Rhodesville, Virginia. The plane small, fixed-wing aircraft crashed at the intersection on the roadway.
The plane was classified as experimental, according to police.
The pilot, Charles Neal Caldwell, 57, of Apopka, Florida, and passenger, John Joseph Quinn Jr., 81, of Culpeper, Virginia, died at the scene.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
