A man is critically injured Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle in District Heights has died, police said.
Prince George's County Police responded to the accident just after 9:40 p.m. at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Parkland Drive.
Preliminary investigation reveals a car was traveling westbound on Pennsylvania Avenue when a pedestrian stepped into traffic. He appeared not to have used a crosswalk at the time he was hit.
The driver remained at the scene of the crash.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police have not identified the victim.
