Michelle Obama Visits Washington Private School

WASHINGTON -- Students at a private school in Washington's tony Georgetown neighborhood were buzzing after a visit from Michelle Obama, who is scouting new schools for her two daughters.

Michelle Obama flew to Washington ahead of her husband on Monday and then visited Georgetown Day School.

Reporters and camera crews had camped out at two other Washington private schools: Sidwell Friends School and the Maret School.

Ellie Lasater-Guttmann, an 8th-grader, said she saw Obama as she left the nurse's office Monday morning and was delighted when she said hello to her. In an interview on a sidewalk off-campus, she called it the highlight of her day.

The Obamas' children, 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha, now attend a private school in Chicago.
