What appears to be the body of a man was found in the Potomac River on Fourth of July morning, officials say.
The body was found northwest of the Key Bridge, the D.C. fire department said. News4 footage shows fire boats searching the river as people enjoying the holiday paddle past in kayaks.
The body was not immediately identified, nor was it clear how he died. A death investigation is underway.
