The man killed in Southeast D.C. Friday morning is the District's 130th homicide of 2015.
Police were called to the 1500 block of V Street SE just before 1 a.m. When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Kenneth Eugene Cosby suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Cosby was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators have not released a description of the suspect. No arrests have been made.
So far, there have been 130 homicides in the District this year. Last year, there were 105 murders in the city.
