A Virginia man is awaiting arrest in the hospital after robbing an apartment and breaking his leg during his escape, Fairfax County police said.
Leoul Yosef, 21, will be arrested and charged with burglary once he is released from the hospital, police said.
According to police, a woman moving into her new apartment on Archstone Court in Franconia saw Yosef climbing over her second floor balcony around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Yosef jumped off the balcony, broke his leg and crawled away, leaving tracks in the snow, police said.
While officers were following the tracks in the snow, they were alerted to a nearby 911 call for a man who had slipped on ice and broken his leg.
Officers responded to the call and found Yosef – who had called for the ambulance himself – matching the description of the suspect.
