Lindsay Czarniak, sports anchor and reporter for NBC Washington, will be leaving the station for a job with ESPN.
Czarniak's last day at NBC Washington will be in mid-July.

"We would have loved for her to continue to be part of our team. She will always have a lot of friends at NBC4, and we truly wish her all the best. We are fortunate to have a strong sports department that will continue our tradition of strong sports coverage."
Czarniak joined NBC Washington in June 2005 from WTVJ-TV, NBC’s station in Miami. While there, she was a sports anchor and reporter and hosted Fins TV, the Miami Dolphins show.
She continued her strong sports reporting in Washington, including in-depth coverage of the Redskins and exclusive interviews with athletes during her Lunch With Lindsay series. She has been a co-host of Sports Final, Redskins Gameplan and Capital Games on NBC Washington Nonstop.
NBC Sports recognized Czarniak’s talents and tapped her to join NBC’s Olympic coverage in 2006 from Turino and 2008 from Beijing. During the Games, she reported live on the NBC Networks and kept D.C.-area viewers in the loop with her video diaries. From Beijing, Czarniak hosted the first-ever Olympic coverage on the Oxygen network.
Czarniak grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Centreville High School. She attended college at James Madison University, then began her broadcasting career as a CNN production assistant. She has also worked for WAWS-TV/WTEV-TV, in Jacksonville, Fla.
