Guests at the Capital Hilton Hotel in downtown D.C. have returned to their rooms after an early morning fire forced them out into the cold early Tuesday.
The hotel was evacuated after a fire that started in a laundry room of the 16th Street NW hotel just after 5 a.m., officials said.
Fire officials said the fire activated the hotel's sprinkler system.
No injuries were reported. Guests were allowed to return to their rooms about 5:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
