Firefighters Work Through Night After Recycling Plant Fire

Firefighters worked through the night to extinguish a massive fire at a recycling plant in Rockville, Maryland.

A large pile of cardboard, cloth and paper being prepared for recycling at Georgetown Paperstock Recycling caught fire about 3:30 p.m. Friday. More than 125 firefighters used over 1 million gallons of water to put out the flames.

The fire was contained quickly, but firefighters worked through the night to extinguish hot spots.

No injuries were reported.

Plant managers estimate the fire cause more than $100,000 in damages, fire officials say.
