A fire tore through a garage at a Montgomery County gas station Friday morning, sending smoke into the air that was visible for miles.
The fire at the Sunoco station has been extinguished. It appeared to have started in the garage and spread throughout the building.
Montgomery County Fire & Rescue were called shortly before 10:15 a.m. to 700 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. The first units arrived to find fire spreading. Employees had already evacuated.
Hungerford Drive was closed in the area.
It wasn't immediately known what caused the fire.
