A D.C. fire truck was involved in a serious accident on its way to a fire in southwest Washington Saturday night.
Engine 15 was on its way to reports of a fire on Ivanhoe Street, SW, around 11 p.m. when a car pulled out in front of it. Four firefighters and four people in the car were injured in the collision.
Spokesman Tim Wilson said the firefighters were transported to the hospital for observation. He did not know the condition of the occupants of the car.
At the fire on Ivanhoe Street, SW, one person was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
