An elderly woman who was found dead behind an elementary school in Adelphi, Md. Sunday had wandered away from home, and apparently died of exposure, police said.
The woman had suffered from dementia, police said.
The woman was found in the 2400 block of Tecumseh Street Sunday, close to Mary Harris "Mother" Jones Elementary school.
Prince George's County police arrived on the scene about 11:35 a.m., and found the woman unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
