A spokesman with the Maryland Transportation Authority told Fredericksburg.com it was nothing but the grace of God that saved a UPS driver this week.
The picture tells the story. Strong winds almost blew the tractor trailer off the Harry Nice Bridge in Charles County and into the Potomac River.
Fredericksburg.com said the incident happened during storms Wednesday afternoon. News4 meteorologist Tom Kierein confirms that winds were near 60 mph in that area at that time. Kierein also said winds could have hit the truck’s side and it may have tipped had it been moving or not.
According to Fredericksburg.com, the UPS driver was not seriously hurt and the truck was not badly damaged.
