A Howard University student was arrested Thursday night after crashing his car into a dorm on the campus.
The car crashed through the entrance of the Bethune Annex on 4th Street NW just before midnight. Students inside the dorm were evacuated while the emergency crews checked for structural damage. The building was deemed safe, and students were allowed to re-enter a short time later.
Police have not released the student's name, but a university spokesperson says he was taken into custody shortly after the crash. Alcohol was a factor in the crash.
No injuries were reported.
Bethune Annex is home to 550 students.
