A body was found at the scene of a fire in northwest D.C. Tuesday evening.
A search of the first floor of a rowhouse at 1810 First St. NW found the body of 42-year-old Jeffery Nedoroscik who lived in the home.
The bulk of the fire was out by 8 p.m.
Nedoroscik was chief of Compliance and Oversight at USAID. "The agency can confirm, sadly, that Mr. Nedoroscik our friend and colleague was the victim in the fire," a USAID official said.
The address of the fire was originally reported as First Street NE.
