St. Mary’s County police said a convicted felon allegedly tried to sell body armor on Craigslist.
The suspect, Sir Patrick Evans, 27, of California, Md., was arrested after attempting to sell a bullet-resistant vest to an undercover officer. Evans is a felon and prohibited from having body armor.
Evans was charged with possession of body armor after being convicted of a drug trafficking crime and possession of body armor without a permit. Detectives are still trying to figure out where the vest came from.
The State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and may have more charges.
