An arrest has been made in the sexual assault and robbery of two women in northwest D.C., police announced Thursday.
Hassain Smart, 19, was arrested and charged in connection with the Rhode Island Avenue incident, which took place at about 1 a.m. Thursday.
Police say two women were walking near T Street NW when the suspect pulled out a handgun and forced the women into the rear of the Unit Block of Rhode Island Avenue. He then sexually assaulted and robbed both women, police said.
Smart was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, kidnapping and robbery while armed.
