Fairfax County police are looking for the man who broke in to a Franconia house, abducted a 5-year-old girl and assaulted her.
Between midnight and 4 a.m. Saturday the man took the girl from an upstairs room in a room on Brocton Court, investigators said. They believe the man entered through an unlocked window and left with the girl through the front door, police said.
The girl's parents found out about the abduction when she returned home at about 4 a.m. The man left her somewhere close to home, so she was able to find her way back, police said.
The girl suffered non-life-threatening trauma to her upper body, police said. She wasn't shot and didn't appear to be stabbed. There's no word yet on whether she was sexually assaulted, News4's Elaine Reyes reported.
The girl said she doesn't know the man, Reyes reported. She's too traumatized to provide police with a description.
