Three people were rescued and taken to the hospital and dozens more were forced out of a Falls Church apartment building after a fire.
Fairfax Fire and Rescue responded to garden-style apartments on the 7300 block of Lee Highway around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Flames were coming through the roof when firefighters arrived, a spokesperson said.
Three people were rescued from the building and taken to the hospital, firefighters said. Nearly three dozen people have been displaced. Red Cross volunteers responded to provide those displaced with blankets, toiletries kits and breakfast.
No firefighters were reported injured. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
