A teenager suffered serious injuries trying to break up a fight between two dogs inside his Arlington, Virginia, home, police said.
A pit bull bit the 17-year-old from head to toe, police said.
“His intervention resulted in the fact that one of the dogs turned on him, and him suffering severe injuries, landing him in the hospital,” said Dustin Sternbeck of Arlington County Police.
The home on 8th Street S. was used as a sitting service for pit bulls, and five dogs were in the house at the time, police said.
The dog also bit the boy in December, while the boy was trying to train the pit bull and wound up kicking the dog.
People at the house Thursday declined to comment but protested the police account by holding up signs reading “false story.”
