WSSC Customers Not Cutting Back Enough

A day after the Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission appealed for shorter showers and a ban on outside watering took effect, usage dropped by about 25 million gallons, only about a third of the goal, said commission spokeswoman Lyn Riggins. Officials in Montgomery warned in an alert that “residents continue to use more water during daylight hours than the system is producing.” (Washington Post)

Rabid Fox Bites Person at Six Flags

Prince George's County health officials say a rabid fox bit a visitor at Six Flags America in Largo. The visitor was bitten at the amusement park on Saturday. The fox was later captured and health officials say it tested positive for rabies. Officials with the county's Health Department is looking for any people, pets or other animals that may have had contact with the fox around Six Flags America in Bowie. Police say Proposition Ends in Arrest

A man who reported being ripped off by two prostitutes in Woodbridge on Thursday ended up under arrest himself. Police were called to the 1200 block of Bayside Avenue about 8:30 p.m. for a report of an assault, said Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok.When they arrived, an intoxicated man approached them and said two women took money from him after he asked them for sex.
