"NO PLANS TO SEEK THE DEATH PENALTY"
Washington Examiner: "Prosecutors have no plans to seek the death penalty for George Huguely V, the 23-year-old University of Virginia lacrosse player charged with brutally slaying his former girlfriend, police say. And there is a growing consensus that the case will be settled in a plea deal before trial, said persons close to both the prosecution and the Huguely family. Huguely, of Chevy Chase, has been locked in a Charlottesville jail cell for seven months awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges for the beating death of 22-year-old Yeardley Love, a fellow classmate and lacrosse player. He will face prosecutors on Jan. 21 for the first time since his May bond hearing."
ASPEN HILL SEX ASSAULTS
wtop.com: "Montgomery County police are investigating a series of assaults that happened in the past few months in the Aspen Hill and Wheaton areas.
The four assaults happened between Oct. 26 and Dec. 3. Women have been the victims of all of the assaults, and three of them have been sexual in nature."

Washington Post: "The field of candidates vying to take over iconic independent bookstore Politics and Prose in the District is narrowing as the January deadline for bids approaches. According to the store's owner, Barbara Meade, a flurry of offers came in following the announcement in June of plans to sell the store on Connecticut Avenue NW. Six serious bidders have emerged from the more than 50 offers made on the property. "
