A man accused of stealing credit card information from patrons at local restaurants pleaded guilty in federal court.
Gabriel Camara, 36, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Camara and a co-conspirator, Nicole Ward, paid servers at several local restaurants to capture customers' credit card numbers on skimmers, officials said.
The stolen information was then given to others who used it to make purchases at wholesale clubs in northern Virginia and elsewhere.
The restaurants involved included the Cheesecake Factory, PGA Tour Grill and the Outback Steakhouse.
Ward, 28, also of D.C., pleaded guilty on July 30 to conspiring to commit bank fraud and will be sentenced on Oct. 29.
Camara faces a maximum 30 years in prison for conspiracy followed by two additional years for aggravated identity theft. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 3.
