Gwyneth Paltrow is about to take another step toward pop music stardom.
The "Country Strong" actress is set to sign a $900,000 contract with Atlantic Records, reports AOL Music.
Paltrow, who may have gotten the music bug from rocker husband Chris Martin of Coldplay, has been showing off her vocal chops in a variety of different settings over the last year. Besides starring on the silver screen as a washed-up country singer, she's popped up on Fox's hit musical comedy "Glee" in a reoccurring cameo role and even performed a sanitized version of Cee Lo Green's hit "F#$# You" with the rap and R & B star at the Grammy Awards.
Though she's been highly visible since this particular aspect of her career has taken off, it's not the first time the star has showcased her musical abilities. She did some singing in the 2000 film "Duets."
While a rep for the star told People that the deal is not firmly in place yet, it does appeart imminent and her sound has been classified as "country pop" by an insider.
