Beastie Boys Ready New Album

Fans of the Beastie Boys can rejoice: the boys from Brooklyn are ready to get it together once again.

On the heels of the news that the seminal hip hop act  were back in the studio, the group has announced that they will indeed release a new record next year, reports New York magazine

The band made the news known via their official website.

"ALTHOUGH WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT 'HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 1' WILL CONTINUE TO BE DELAYED INDEFINITELY, 'HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 2' WILL BE RELEASED ON TIME AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED IN SPRING OF 2011," they wrote.

The band has been on hiatus since Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his salivary glands last year. Via a blog post by Mike D's wife, director Tamra Davis, Yauch appears to be making a recovery.

The new release will be the band's first proper rap album since 2004's "To the 5 Boroughs." The band released "The Mix Up," an album of instrumental performances, in 2007.
