Paris Hilton just had her hallmark moment.
The Hollywood heiress settled her three-year-old lawsuit against Hallmark, having accused the greeting card firm of violating her publicity rights by using her image and trademarked “that’s hot” catchphrase on a card.
Lawyers for the ex-“Simple Life” star and Hallmark told a judge last week that they’d reached a confidential settlement, according to The Hollywood reporter and E! Online.
Hilton had been seeking $500,000 in damages, E! reported.
Until the two sides reached a settlement, they had been prepping for a December court trial. Last year, a federal appeals court ruled against Hallmark’s position arguing the card was a parody and entitling the company to free-speech protections.
News of the settlement comes a week after Hilton was refused entry to Japan by immigration officials due to her recent drug convictions.
On Tuesday, Hilton received one year’s probation after pleading guilty to cocaine possession and obstructing an officer in connection with her Aug. 27 Las Vegas arrest.
