Jeannemarie Devolites Davis is starting a campaign for lieutenant governor of Virginia, she announced at an event Wednesday morning.
Davis joins a crowded field that includes Prince William County delegate Scott Ligamfelter and possibly Prince William County Board Chairman Corey Stewart, reports Julie Carey, News4's Northern Virginia Bureau Chief.
Davis had previously said she was interested in the post, and before the announcement had created a Web site that seemed to make her intentions clear: jeannemarie4LG.com
Davis is a former Virginia state senator from Fairfax County and wife of former U.S. Rep. Tom Davis.
