You may not have realized, but the MLS held its annual All-Star Game Wednesday just outside of Philadelphia.
Unlike other professional all-star games, where the two leagues/conferences within the league compete against each other, the MLS All-Stars team up against international competition.
This year, that competition was Chelsea, one of the English Premier League's most decorated clubs. In a closely-contested game, the MLS came out on top in a 3-2 victory.
D.C. United's Chris Pontius was named the MVP, scoring the game-tying goal in the 73rd minute and assisting on Eddie Johnson's game-winner in the 91st.
MLS team captain and fellow D.C. United member Dwayne De Rosario assisted on Pontius' goal.
D.C. United return to the pitch Saturday in a friendly against Paris Saint-Germain at 7:30 p.m. at RFK Stadium.
