Desperately seeking delicious, delicious brains? Of course you are -- who isn't? So you'll be delighted to prep for the annual Silver Spring Zombie Walk, to be held this Saturday, Oct. 23.
Here's how to accomplish this monumental feat. Step 1: Dress like a zombie, obvy. (And yes, red nail polish splatters come through for yet another October.)
Step 2: Meet with like-minded zombies around 7:30 p.m. at Jackie's Sidebar and Jackie's Back Room (intersection of Sligo and Georgia avenues, Silver Spring, Md.).
Step 3: Commence zombie shuffle at 9 p.m.
Step 4: Petrify the public.
The blog Silver Spring Singular has everything else you need to know, including route info and a vital Q&A, featuring such jewels as, "Why would I want to do something like this?" Answer: "Uh, why wouldn't you?"
Once you've had your fill of braaaaains, head to the AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road) for a showing of George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" (1978). The zombie walk is free, and movie tix are $10. Advance purchase is recommended.
