Metro and/or subway riders around the world -- including here in the District -- will be leaving their pants at home on Sunday.
The annual flash-mob-style No Pants Subway Ride got started in NYC in 2002 thanks to Improv Everywhere, a group of urban pranksters. The D.C. version is meeting up this Sunday at Hancock Park near the L'Enfant Metro stop.
The premise is simple: ride the subway with no pants, and play it cool.
"We also would like to stress the importance of acting normal (and not knowing why everyone around you has no pants on either)," said the group's Facebook page.
That means chat quietly with friends, read the paper, play games on your cell phone -- completely ignoring the fact that you're not wearing any pants!!!!!!
Technically, there's one more caveat: "Note this is NOT a nudism event or group, nor is it affiliated with any nudism event or group. Undergarments should be selected which conceal all 'naughty bits'."
The D.C. event's afterparty is at Cobalt (1639 R St. N.W.), with half-price burgers for no-pants riders and a full bar with $5 you-call drink specials for participants over 21. More info here.
